Kelley is a member of Fairmont Community Development Partnership’s volunteer board of directors. She has a Bachelor’s degree in counseling and is a Juvenile Victim-Offender Mediator for the National Youth Advocate Program, Inc. She was drawn to the nonprofit sector because she likes to “be active locally” and to give back. One of the reasons she volunteers with FCDP is because she enjoys “helping make affordable housing available.”
Kelley grew up in Princeton, West Virginia, but later moved to Charlotte, North Carolina. She came to the area in 2011 when her husband proposed. She enjoys the low cost of living in Fairmont. When she is not working or busy volunteering Kelley enjoys camping and attending live music. She has two pets, a dog named Michael J Fox and Luhie the cat.
Her favorite quote is, “You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, ‘I lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along,” Eleanor Roosevelt.
