“I feel that helping others satisfies the soul in the same way that we need to eat and drink. Making the world a better place is not won in a single battle but is accomplished by compounding good deeds over time.”

Tim is an information specialist for The State of West Virginia. He is the Secretary for the Fairmont Community Development Partnership Board and also serves on the HR Committee. He “felt a need to give back, having been raised in extreme poverty and experiencing homelessness 2-3 times before” he was 25. Tim feels “strongly about the need to increase the affordable housing options for low-income individuals and the availability of quality housing for all.”

Tim grew up in Charleston, WV then moved around a lot in his 20’s to Delaware, Montana, and Louisiana. He moved back to West Virginia to be near family. He chose the area because “the job market was better.” He loves that in Fairmont there is “a firm sense of brotherhood among social agencies wanting to better the community for all.” He also loves “the way downtown Fairmont looks from the connector.”

When Tim is not busy with work he likes to buy and trade collectibles, coins, and antiques. He also enjoys gaming, learning new things, and studying the stock market.
